Flooring installation and refinishingHardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl

Hardwood sanded and finished, and new laminate, tile and vinyl floors put down, on their own or as the last trade in a remodel.

What floors does C&A put down?

In the company’s words: hardwoods sanded and finished, laminate, tile, vinyl and many more flooring options. That covers bringing back the hardwood already in an older house in East Nashville or Goodlettsville as well as new floors in a remodel or an addition in Antioch, Spring Hill or La Vergne.

Refinishing hardwood

Sanding takes worn finish, scratches and surface stains down to bare wood, then new coats of finish are built up and left to cure. Deep pet stains and boards worn thin don’t always sand out; those boards can be cut out and new ones woven in before the sanding starts.

Laminate, vinyl or tile?

Where water is likely, in a kitchen, bath or laundry room, vinyl and tile are the safer picks. Laminate looks like wood for less money but doesn’t like standing water. In living rooms and bedrooms, hardwood and laminate give the warmer look underfoot.

Floors in a bigger remodel

Timing matters. Put a floor down too early and it takes the abuse of drywall and paint work; too late and the trim has to come off twice. With framing, drywall, trim and paint in the same company, C&A sets that order itself instead of waiting on another contractor.

Questions

Flooring questions

What people ask about flooring before they call.

What types of flooring do you install?

Hardwood, laminate, tile and vinyl, plus sanding and refinishing existing hardwood; C&A’s own list ends with “and many more flooring options.” If you have a material in mind that isn’t named here, ask about it when you call (615) 500-4266 or put it in the estimate form.

Can you refinish my hardwood floors?

Yes. Sanding and finishing hardwood is the first flooring service C&A names. Refinishing takes the old finish and surface wear down to bare wood and then builds up new coats, and the room has to stay empty while the finish cures. Tell Cruz the square footage and whether stairs are included.

Is vinyl or laminate better for a kitchen or bathroom?

Vinyl, in most cases. Luxury vinyl plank has a waterproof core, while laminate has a wood-fiber core that swells if water sits on it; some newer laminates are rated water-resistant, so check the product. Tile is the other choice for a bathroom, and C&A installs all three.

Does new flooring need to acclimate before it goes down?

Hardwood and laminate usually do. The boxes sit open in the room for the time the manufacturer specifies, often a few days, so the planks match the house’s temperature and humidity before they’re locked in place. Skipping it can leave gaps or buckling later. Tile and most vinyl need far less.

Can new floors be part of a bigger remodel?

Yes, and flooring is usually the last big trade in. Because C&A’s own crew frames, hangs drywall, builds trim and paints, the floor can go down after the dusty work is done and before the baseboards go back on, with no gap between contractors.
