Who hangs and who finishes?
C&A’s drywall crews are made of two specialties. Hangers measure, cut and fasten the board to the framing; finishers tape the seams, apply compound in coats and sand it flat. The company’s stated goal is walls that look smooth, for a better finished product.
Smooth matters most where light hits a wall at a low angle: beside windows, down long hallways and across ceilings. That’s where a rushed seam shows up once the paint is on. Middle Tennessee’s humid summers slow joint compound down, too, which is one more reason finishing isn’t hurried. The drywall crew works from Hermitage and Donelson to Franklin and Nolensville.

Coffered ceilings and detail work
Drywall isn’t only flat walls. The coffered ceiling below was framed and wrapped in drywall, with every beam edge and inside corner finished before primer. A finished coffered ceiling, under a crystal chandelier, is on the home page.

Patches and repairs
Holes from a doorknob, a plumbing repair or an old fixture are small jobs C&A takes on. A patch has to be feathered out wide and primed, or it flashes through the new paint; with painters in the same company, the repair is finished to match the wall around it.
Additions, sunrooms and new rooms
On new space, C&A’s framers build the structure, the drywall crew closes it in, and the painters and flooring installers finish it. One company and one estimate cover the whole sequence, which is how the sunroom above was done.
